Oz House (Atherton, CA)

Modern | Multi-Phase Legacy Estate | 10,000 sq. ft.

The Project That Opened the
Door to Our Modern Work

Oz House holds a special place in Lencioni Construction’s history. It was the first modern home the team built with architect Robert Swatt, beginning a long-standing relationship that would help establish Lencioni as a trusted builder of modern homes throughout the Peninsula.

What began as a single custom residence has grown into a multi-phase estate, with Lencioni returning over the years to build additional structures, complete major upgrades, and support the changing needs of the estate’s owners.

More than a single project, Oz House reflects the kind of long-term partnership built through trust, continuity, and sustained involvement over time.

What Guided the Approach

With multiple phases completed over many years—and another currently underway—Oz House has evolved through careful planning, long-term collaboration, and an intimate understanding of the property itself.

  • The estate has continued to grow over time through additional structures, landscape enhancements, and custom spaces designed around the evolving lifestyle of its owners.
  • Set within a challenging hillside environment, each phase required careful integration with the existing property while preserving the character, privacy, and experience of the home.
  • Many phases were completed while the homeowners remained living on site, requiring a highly coordinated approach that balanced ongoing construction with day-to-day life on the estate.

Years of sustained involvement have given Lencioni deep familiarity with the property, allowing each new phase to feel seamlessly connected to what came before.

The Result

Oz House has grown from a single modern residence into a fully realized legacy estate, shaped over time through multiple phases of work and continued collaboration.

The project also represents a defining moment in Lencioni Construction’s history—helping establish the firm’s reputation in modern luxury homebuilding and opening the door to a new era of design-forward homes throughout the Peninsula.
