A Home Designed to
Take In the View

Set against open space in Portola Valley, Preserve was designed to make the most of its extraordinary setting, with long views stretching to the Stanford Tower and, on clear days, all the way to San Francisco.

From the beginning, the project brought together architecture, interiors, landscape, and construction around a shared vision: creating a modern family home that feels expansive, calm, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

What Guided the Approach

Preserve began through a competitive RFP process led by the architectural team, with an early emphasis on collaboration, planning, and coordination across disciplines.

  • Strong alignment between the architect, builder, and consultants helped protect the design intent while keeping the project well-sequenced and buildable.
  • Early engagement during pre-construction allowed key materials, details, and decisions to be coordinated before work began on site.
  • Clear communication and defined roles across multiple top-tier firms kept the project moving forward with consistency and clarity throughout construction.

The Result

Preserve is a modern family home that balances clean architectural lines with warmth and livability. Exterior cedar cladding and the integration of indoor and outdoor spaces all reflect the level of coordination and care carried throughout the project.
